Ceri had a fantastic World Veterans Championships last week in Cairo. In the individual event he came 23rd overall. He went out in a very narrow 8-10 loss to Stefano Lanciotti who went on to take the sliver. As the second highest ranked GB fencer, Ceri was selected for the team event (below), where GB finished in 7th place after unluckily drawing the Italians who went on to win gold. Losing to the finalists in both competitions is a great result. Well played Ceri – you did yourself and us proud.

Regular visitor to the Club, Jacqui Esimaje-Heath also fenced brilliantly to claim an individual bronze. Great news.
